Obsidian and AI memory
Can I use Obsidian as memory for Claude Code or Codex?
You can, but someone has to keep the notes up. TruthSpine keeps your project's record for you, reads the notes in your project folder like any other documents, and hands the record to every connected chat.
What is going on
Notes help a chat only while someone keeps them up. After a busy week, they describe last week's project.
Each new chat has to be pointed at the right notes, and someone has to write down what the last chat did.
Your notes, plus a record kept for you
- It reads your notes
The Markdown notes in your project folder, vault included, are read like any other documents, and answers can quote them.
- It keeps what each chat saves
Every connected chat saves what it decided, did and left open. That is what TruthSpine treats as confirmed.
- Every chat starts from it
Claude Code, Codex and your other connected apps read the same record when a chat starts.

Common questions
Do I have to stop using Obsidian?
No. Keep writing in Obsidian. If your vault is in your project folder, TruthSpine reads its notes with the rest of your project.
Does TruthSpine use Obsidian's links and tags?
No. It reads your notes as ordinary documents. Links, tags and folders mean nothing special to it.
Will it find the decisions in my notes?
A note that clearly states a decision, like "We decided …" or a list of decisions, can show as a decision from your files. It may not find every one, so what your chats save is what it treats as confirmed.
Does my project leave my computer?
No. Your project stays on your computer.
